The Sarnia Urban Wildlife Committee has worked with schools to plant native shrubs and trees in their schoolyards. These projects educate children about the natural environment, and many children at these schools have learned more about nature by helping to create wild spaces in their schoolyards. Studies have also shown that green schoolyards is linked to healthy development in children through increased physical activity and well-being.
