Logan's Pond

The area in the vicinity of the pond is now recognized by the City of Sarnia as a Wildlife Sanctuary, or special natural area. Through the efforts of the SUWC, a six meter wide buffer strip was preserved around the southewast edge of Logan's Pond at Cathcart and Modeland Roads. The purpose of this buffer is to help ensure the continued presence of wildlife on the pond. When combined with the Howard Watson Nature Trail on the north, this buffer will help provide habitat for the species that call this pond home.

Thousands of migrating shorebirds use the pond as a stopover in the spring and fall, and Wood Ducks have been seen nesting on the shores of the pond.
